SophieZo Virtually There For You

Bingeing for Catch-up

July 22, 2016 by sophiezo Leave a Comment

We’ve all been there. A mega-popular show that everyone is talking about and you’re left out in the cold because you’re not following along. Maybe it’s Downtown Abbey. Maybe it’s OITNB. Maybe it’s GoT. Whatever it is, most people feel like they can just carve out a weekend and catch up by binge-watching dozens of episodes in a row.

Here’s my radical idea: while this is technically possible, it’s also not always that much fun. Why not? Because you feel like you HAVE TO catch up. It’s not watching for the pleasure of it. It’s watching so you aren’t left behind. Where’s the fun in that?

How, you may ask, does business relate to this? Well, many entrepreneurs have one area of their business that they always leave till the last minute, or neglect until they just can’t afford to anymore. Maybe it’s sending invoices. Or filing tax documents. Or writing your newsletter. So then you spend several days focused on nothing but catching up on that one task. You neglect everything else. And you realize that you’re not having any fun.

While the object of business is not necessarily fun, at the same time, you shouldn’t have to waste your energy in double-down drudgery. So how do you make sure everything gets done and you don’t have to play catch-up? Project planning.

Put on your project manager hat and map out a time and deadline for each and every task. Make sure you’ve got a little wiggle room for errors and adhere to that schedule.

What if your strengths don’t lie in project planning? Hire an online business manager to create project plans for you. She can help strategize deadlines, contract team members to help, and chart progress.

Think you’re ready to work with a business manager for your project management? Just take my quick quiz and find out!

We’ve been working with Sophie Zollmann for almost half a year now, building an online lifelong learning platform and community from the ground up (because in-person classes became impossible in light of the corona virus). Sophie has guided every technical aspect of this enterprise including the construction of landing-pages and websites, the management of mailing lists and revenue funnels, setting up Zoom meetings, etc., allowing us to focus exclusively on content production and marketing. This platform is now off the ground and succeeding beyond our wildest hopes.

We couldn’t have built it without Sophie’s support, which has always been prompt and timely, and her guidance, as she’s always pointed us to the most efficient and economical solutions to whatever technical issue we’ve faced. In the heat of the moment, I’m sure we’ve not always been easy to work with, but Sophie has also been generous and understanding to a fault. In sum, her support has been flawless and absolutely essential to the success of our online enterprise. We will be relying on her services again as we ramp up for our next phase of growth.
