What An Online Business Manager WON’T Do For You

obm won't do

There’s still a lot of confusion among business owners when it comes to defining exactly what an online business manager can, and will do for their clients. Very few businesses truly understand the role of an OBM – and while there are many articles out there that address exactly how beneficial an online business manager can be – there aren’t so many that underline the things an online business manager doesn’t do for your business.

Here, we’ll address the things that an OBM doesn’t do – to help you get a better understanding of how they really can help your business.

  1. An OBM won’t Tell You What to Do

An online business manager isn’t a coach that gives you directions on how to make you more effective. While they can give you insights into your business by analyzing metrics, and provide you with advice, at the end of the day you remain the owner of your own business – and you get to make the decisions that you think are right for your organization.

  1. An OBM won’t be Your Cheerleader

Your OBM is there to help your business run more effectively by allowing you to focus on the tasks that only you can do. What they’re not there for is to praise your decisions, or tell you that you’re right when you’re wrong. In other words, they’re not there to kiss up to you and tell you how amazing your product is – they’re there to improve the way your business works.

  1. An OBM won’t perform Miracles

An online business manager goes above and beyond to help you make the most out of your business, ensuring that projects, people, and operations are carefully monitored and managed to help you meet your specific goals. However, it’s important to remember that you need to outline these goals in a way that your OBM can understand and provide him or her with the resources they need to make your professional dreams a reality. Clarify what you want from your OBM at the start of your relationship, and chances are that you’ll get exactly what you’re looking for.

Now that you know what an OBM won’t do, you can hopefully understand the benefits of hiring an online business manager a little better. If you think that an OBM could help to turn your business around, why not click here to find out more about hiring your very own business expert?

We’ve been working with Sophie Zollmann for almost half a year now, building an online lifelong learning platform and community from the ground up (because in-person classes became impossible in light of the corona virus). Sophie has guided every technical aspect of this enterprise including the construction of landing-pages and websites, the management of mailing lists and revenue funnels, setting up Zoom meetings, etc., allowing us to focus exclusively on content production and marketing. This platform is now off the ground and succeeding beyond our wildest hopes.

We couldn’t have built it without Sophie’s support, which has always been prompt and timely, and her guidance, as she’s always pointed us to the most efficient and economical solutions to whatever technical issue we’ve faced. In the heat of the moment, I’m sure we’ve not always been easy to work with, but Sophie has also been generous and understanding to a fault. In sum, her support has been flawless and absolutely essential to the success of our online enterprise. We will be relying on her services again as we ramp up for our next phase of growth.
