What happens when your next big thing turns out to be a big, fat flop?

It happens to all of us. Success isn’t always linear, and you can’t get to the finish line without a stumble every now and then. Setbacks are going to be a part of your story, but they don’t have to define you. The key is knowing how to turn a setback into a step up for you and your business!

Here are 3 things to remember the next time you encounter a stumbling block:

1. Nobody’s Perfect
   
   There is not a single business owner on this planet that has not encountered failure. Sometimes you’re going to win the race, and other times you’re going to fall flat on your face, and there’s no reason to beat yourself up when it inevitably happens.
   
   Get up, dust yourself off, and get ready to try again. Which brings me to my second point…
   
   
2. Learn from This
   
   You don’t want to keep making the same mistake over and over again, so you’ve got to get to the root of this misstep.
   
   Figure out what went wrong and how you can fix it. Use your tracking tools – your KPIs and the data dashboards that follow the exact points of the funnel – to figure out what was good, what was bad, and what was downright ugly. Then you’ll know if you need to adjust it, fix it, or dump it and move on to something better.
   
   
3. Don’t Let it Happen Again
   
   Now that you know what went wrong, what strategies can you implement to keep it from occurring in the future? Do you need more testing? Stronger planning? Better products or services?
   
   Evaluating this flop can help you be more successful because it allows you to tweak your strategy, up your game, and be even stronger in your next attempt.

You’re going to flop every now and then but remember that is NOT failure!
