5 Tips For Spring
Cleaning Your Website

May 3, 2019 by sophiezo Leave a Comment

What is it about spring that makes us want to freshen things up? Something about that combination of sunshine, blooming flowers, and fresh spring air inspires us to make everything shiny and new! Once you’re done spring cleaning your house, why not take a look at your website? Maybe it could use some sprucing up as well. Here are 5 tips to help make that old website shine!

1. Refresh Your Welcome Statement

Your welcome statement is the first thing potential clients see. Is it getting the job done? You want your welcome statement to get your viewer’s attention immediately, so it has to be compelling and engaging. You need a succinct opener that tells who you are, what you do, and why you’re awesome. If your welcome statement can’t do all of that, it might be time for a new one.

 2. Spruce Up Your Look

Your website should have a consistent look and feel throughout. Now is the perfect time to make sure you’re giving off the vibe you want for your brand. Is the style and feel of your copy consistent from your welcome to your blog? Does your style appeal to your target audience?

Once your copy is cleaned up, you need to consider your overall look. Does it fit your brand’s image? If you don’t have a branded color palette for your website, it might be time to choose one. That can give your website the seamless look and flow that your customers will love.

 3. Show The Real You

If you have a website full of generic stock images, it’s time to throw those out like yesterday’s trash! Consumers these days want authenticity, and that can only be achieved when you let your personality shine through. Update your website with photos and videos that let your potential clients get to know the person behind the brand. Clients want to know the real you, so be honest, be yourself, and be authentic!

 4. Do Some Housekeeping

How long has it been since you’ve proofread your website or checked on your links? Spelling errors and broken links can lower your SEO ranking, and you definitely don’t want that! Take the time to go through every page looking for possible errors and checking your links to make sure they’re active.

 5. Get New Stuff

Once you’ve cleaned house, you might want a few new things to really freshen the place up. What could your website use? If you don’t already have a blog, start one! Maybe add a survey to increase your customer interaction. Make it simple for potential clients to contact you by adding a CTA button to your home page. Using clear instructional language like, “Let’s Talk” or “Get In Touch,” makes it even easier to convert a potential client into a loyal customer.

We’ve been working with Sophie Zollmann for almost half a year now, building an online lifelong learning platform and community from the ground up (because in-person classes became impossible in light of the corona virus). Sophie has guided every technical aspect of this enterprise including the construction of landing-pages and websites, the management of mailing lists and revenue funnels, setting up Zoom meetings, etc., allowing us to focus exclusively on content production and marketing. This platform is now off the ground and succeeding beyond our wildest hopes.

We couldn’t have built it without Sophie’s support, which has always been prompt and timely, and her guidance, as she’s always pointed us to the most efficient and economical solutions to whatever technical issue we’ve faced. In the heat of the moment, I’m sure we’ve not always been easy to work with, but Sophie has also been generous and understanding to a fault. In sum, her support has been flawless and absolutely essential to the success of our online enterprise. We will be relying on her services again as we ramp up for our next phase of growth.
