What’s your story?
We’ve all got one – a narrative that we’ve created around ourselves and our businesses – but sometimes those stories are the very things that are holding us back from reaching the next level of success.
My friend, Victoria Lynne Hannu – founder and CEO of Heart & Soul CEO, sat down with me to talk about the stories we create, and how to overcome the limiting beliefs that often accompany them.
Victoria has heard a LOT of stories in the 20 years that she’s been working with individuals, entrepreneurs, and organizations to help them turn their vision into reality and their numbers into successes, and she’s found that they generally have one thing in common – numbers.
People stress about the numbers that come with their finances, their time allocation, even their age, and they create stories around them to explain who or what is causing the problem.
These stories are shaped by our individual perspectives, the way we were raised, and the people and events that influence us.
Problems occur when we allow our stories to cast our numbers in a negative light. If the mere thought of your numbers fills you with dread, you’ve created a perspective that can do nothing but hold you back.
Victoria reminds us that numbers are just numbers – it’s what we think about them and what they mean to us that gives them their significance. Before we can change our stories, we have to understand them.
When you look at numbers (your finances, for example), ask yourself two questions:
- How do I feel about this?
- What does it mean to me?
This helps you identify your perspective on your numbers and understand the story you’ve built around them.
Once you know what your story is, you can learn from it and begin the process of transforming it!
Victoria wants to help you find the stories that are hidden behind, in, and around your numbers – so she’s giving you an awesome gift to get you started!
