Teamwork makes the dream work!
Your team supports your vision for your business, and they’re the ones that put in the work to make it happen. You’re depending on your team to make your business bigger and better with every year, and that means it’s up to you to keep them happy, motivated, and working together like a well-oiled machine.
It doesn’t matter whether you have a small team, or a bigger, fully assembled plug-and-play team, there are 3 things you should be doing on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis all year long.
- Collaborative Brainstorming
An effective team culture invites everyone to bring ideas to the table! You may be the ultimate visionary of your business, but you definitely shouldn’t be the ONLY one sharing ideas.
Plan weekly, monthly, and quarterly brainstorming sessions with your whole team. This will bring fresh inspiration and new ideas while also ensuring that your team is working together to bring your goals to life! - Collaborative Work Apps
Don’t let your amazing plans for your business get buried in a pile of unread emails! Whenever you embark on a new project, your team should be able to access assets and documents, work together, ask questions, and track progress from one central location, and that makes collaborative work and communication apps a must-have.
Asana is my personal gold standard for project management, and I also rely on Slack to organize projects into different channels and keep communication flowing! - Respect Work Hours
There is nothing worse than hearing the ping of a work-related email in your off hours! Be respectful of your team’s personal time. Avoid calling your team or sending emails during off hours whenever possible, and if you do have to send an email after business hours, be clear that you don’t expect them to act until the next workday.
Emergencies happen, but when a situation arises, assess the severity BEFORE you contact your team. Can it wait until morning? If so, don’t worry your team with it tonight.
When you clearly respect your team’s time, encourage their ideas, and value their insight, you establish a solid work culture of trust, appreciation, and collaboration. Your team will appreciate knowing that you ALWAYS have their backs, and there’s no better motivating force than mutual admiration!
Following these 3 simple team-building tips puts your business on the road to next-level success and keeps everyone motivated as you work towards your next milestone goal.
