How do you know if your marketing is really hitting the mark?
When you’re spending your valuable time, money, and resources on a new marketing initiative, you want it to pay off! You don’t have time to play guessing games or wait around and hope it all works out. That’s the equivalent of throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping something sticks, and that is NEVER an effective way to run your business.
Before you launch your next campaign, I have some tried and tested tips to help you bring the results you’re looking for every time:
- Tailor Your Message
Your target audience is made up of many different groups, and each segment has different wants, needs, and preferences. If you can tailor your voice, tone, platform, or offer to fit each audience segment, you’ll get a far better response than attempting to reach every member of your audience with a “one size fits all” message.
- Measure Your Positioning Strategy
You need to set your performance metrics and KPIs BEFORE you launch a campaign. Do your market research, get client feedback, and know how you’ll measure the effectiveness of your campaign before you put it out into the world.
- Choose the Right Channels
You can’t reach your target audience if you don’t know where to find them. Don’t just rely on the same old platforms and hope for the best. Social media platforms are constantly evolving, and audiences shift over time. Stay current on the channels your audience prefers so you’re not wasting money shouting into the void.
- Be You
The real you – not some uber fancy, ultra-business version of yourself. People can see through an act a mile away, and if you’re trying to be someone you’re not, you’ll turn your audience off. So be your wild, weird, wonderful self. The people that are meant to work with you will be drawn to you, and you’ll never have to fake it!
- Don’t be Afraid of Change
What worked for you 5 years ago might not work today. The world is changing, social media is changing, the virtual marketplace is changing, and you’ve got to evolve along with it if you want to stay relevant. That means analyzing your marketing efforts regularly, staying on top of your metrics, keeping up with trends, and being brave enough to pivot when necessary.
Track your numbers, keep up with your data, and be vigilant about following your initiatives from start to finish. The more you know, the more successful you will be!
