The Most Important Lessons I’ve
Learned As A Business Owner

Owning my own business is a dream come true, but it certainly hasn’t been easy every step of the way – building a business from the ground up never is. When I started SophieZo Virtually There For You, I knew I had a great idea, and I knew it could be successful, but I still had plenty of lessons to learn along the way! No matter where you are in your brand building journey, there are 4 important things to know about owning your own business.

1. Never Give Up.

Owning a business is going to be challenging at times. There will be days that you feel frustrated, discouraged, and even defeated. Hard times will happen, but the way you respond to them determines your success. The ability to persevere and push through any challenge is critical for business owners.

I started this as a freelance side gig. It became a 6-figure business because I never gave up. I kept growing, learning, adding skills and then I got a coach to help me reach goals I’d only dreamed of. That is when it all came together, and I knew that this business was a success.

2. You Can’t Do It Alone.

I started as a solopreneur, however, I quickly learned that wasn’t going to work. I wanted to help a lot of people, but that’s not possible when you’re trying to do it alone. Build a team and delegate, delegate, delegate. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.

In fact, I believe in this advice so much that I created a business around it! My goal was to provide that team to business owners and help them build it all in one place. No matter how great your business ideas are, you need a team to help you implement them.

3. Always Have A Coach No Matter the Cost.

I knew I had a fantastic business that provided a service that people desperately need, and yet I struggled for many years to break the 6-figure mark. I came close once but didn’t get there. It was very frustrating to find myself unable to reach this income goal that I had set. I decided to take advice from other entrepreneurs who had reached amazing heights. I found a business coach who truly inspired me and began applying his lessons to my own business.

Once I saw my coach in person at a group event, I knew that was the thing I was missing. I signed up for a virtual program and finally hit that long-standing 6-figure goal! It inspired me to enroll in the advanced series of coaching to take it to the next level.

4. Surround Yourself with People That Support You

Unfortunately, having an amazing coach didn’t protect me from all the bumps in the road. I still faced challenges with my business, and there were times when I questioned whether or not I should keep going. That’s where my support network saved me. I had that coach there to keep me from giving up and throwing in the towel. Because of him and others that believed in me, namely my husband, I pulled through with flying colors, and now I’m even more determined to achieve everything I set out to do.

Surround yourself with family, friends and colleagues who will be there for you through it all. There will be ups, downs and everything in between. If you don’t have a support network that believes in you and what you do, you will not go far.

I’d love to help you reach your dreams for your business. Book a call today so we can begin building the support team that will help you take it to the next level.
