Your Numbers Tell Your Story

Donna Dube believes that the story of your business starts with your numbers.

As the founder of Productivity Plus, she’s been helping CEOs reach their full potential without the burnout and stress that comes with managing a growing and scaling business, and she stopped by the podcast to show us how to put our numbers to work!

Her #1 piece of advice for business owners is to start looking at their metrics and tracking their numbers to see what’s REALLY going on in their business.

It’s a great place to start because your numbers help you:

  • Find leaks
  • Discover areas where you might be overspending or wasting money
  • Identify opportunities for growth
  • Develop an action plan to move forward and boost revenue

But let’s be honest – there are a LOT of numbers in your business! How do you decide which ones matter most? Is it possible to dive into your data without drowning in it??

Donna makes it easy to identify your main metrics by sorting your numbers into 3 important categories:

FinancesMarketingOperations
Includes:
-Revenue
-Expenses
-Profit margin
Ask:
-Where are my customers coming from?
-What actions are they taking when they visit my website, or interact with my social media?
-How are my ads performing?
Identify:
-The ROI for important client activities, services, or products.
-How you and your team are spending your time, and whether your actions are bringing good ROI.

Once you’ve identified the important numbers that tell the complete story of your business, you’re ready to put them to work by setting measurable goals for the next 12 months and tracking your metrics to ensure you’re making the steady progress that gets you there!
