Everybody on the team knows exactly what they’re doing and exactly how to do it, and that improves overall workflow and makes projects run seamlessly.

Having your processes in place makes EVERYTHING easier, but first you have to, you know, actually get them in place…

My friend, Lizabeth Wesely-Casella, is the founder and CEO of L-12 Services, and she specializes in helping businesses of any size manage their workflow and improve their processes and culture.

She stopped by the podcast to share her top tips for taking your business to the next level, and she highlighted 3 simple steps you can take to enhance your team’s workflow and streamline your processes:

  • Write It Down!

Lizabeth recommends that all business owners start documenting their processes from the beginning – even if you’re a solopreneur.

If you write down what you do and how you do it, you’re already ahead of the game when it’s time to hire team members, train them, and start delegating tasks.

  • Talk to Your Team!

If you already have a team in place, they are one of your most valuable assets. Sit down with them and discuss the current state of your business vs. the ideal state and ask them to share thoughts on how to get from here to there.

Senior team members have a well of institutional knowledge to draw from. They can reference previous challenges, offer solutions that have worked in the past, or suggestions on how to improve ineffective strategies.

New team members bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table, and when you combine institutional knowledge with new ideas, everybody wins!

  • Boost Team Spirit!

Lizabeth encourages business owners to strive to create a culture where people are comfortable sharing innovative ideas and feel personally aligned with the organization and its mission, vision, and values.
