You’re all about taking care of business, but Ryan Dunphy knows that the real secret to success is taking care of YOURSELF!
As a talent scout for Rising Tide Connections, Ryan is dedicated to amplifying those who have a mission or message to make the world a happier, healthier, more productive place, and he believes that the better you take care of yourself, the better you can take care of your business.
Ryan says that if you’re not managing your stress, your health, and your time, you’re just wasting time and money. Luckily, he’s got some great solutions to help you be healthier, happier, and more productive!
- Create a Success Sequence for your week
Each day brings ups and downs, and it’s almost impossible to plan out your entire month, so Ryan advises starting with your week.
If you can create a flow for your week, you can get everything you need and want to do done.
- Prioritize Your Health
You can’t bring the energy your business needs to succeed if you’re exhausted, stressed, and overextended.
Ryan wants you to focus on bringing the right energies to the right activities. Intentionally build fun into your business and find outlets to cut loose and play! You’ll reduce your stress while boosting your creativity.
- Don’t Manage Your Time – Manage Your Energy
None of us has the ability to stop, start, or rewind time. It’s marching forward, and the only way we can control it is by carefully choosing how we spend our time.
We all have the same number of hours in a week, so prioritize it wisely. Be very intentional with your activities and your energies and protect your time fiercely.
- Build Your Ideal Week
You can’t accomplish every task on your to-do list by Friday, so determine which ones are the best use of your time and energy.
Ask yourself, “Where can I make the biggest contribution?” or “What’s the best use of my time?”
- Reduce the Chaos
We all have problem areas of our business that reduce our productivity. When you can identify those bottlenecks, find a solution, and apply that to your weekly templates, you’ll save yourself countless hours and headaches!
You’ve heard it before, but it bears repeating- delegation is EVERYTHING!!
When you can delegate tasks regularly (bonus points for automated delegation) you preserve your time and allow yourself to stay in your expert zone where you belong.
- Understand Your Priorities
Ryan has an awesome format for identifying your highest priorities (and it’s super simple!)
Just grab 2 sheets of paper and label one “work” and the other “not work.” Now, fold them both in half and label one column “urgent” and the other “not urgent.”
Start listing tasks in the appropriate columns, and soon you’ll have your priorities for your business and your life organized at a glance!
