Team culture matters a LOT!

Building an effective team is about so much more than just hiring qualified people. You want to assemble a team that works together like a well-oiled machine, and create a culture of respect, collaboration, efficiency, and satisfaction.

Keeping your team on top of their game starts with building a team culture that prioritizes happiness, growth, and loving what you do. Here are 5 ways to keep your team motivated and on the path to next-level success:

  1. Share Your Vision

You’re all in this together, right? Your team can’t work towards your goals if they’re not clear on what those goals are, so share your vision for the future of your business. Lay out long-term goals and the milestones that will get you there. When they can see the big picture of what success looks like to you, they’ll be able to support you in bringing your vision for your business to life.

  2. Offer Challenges

Your team needs to grow along with your business. When you give your team members opportunities to try new things, build their skills, and step outside their comfort zone to reach new levels of genius, you’re making your business better and setting your team up for sustainable growth.

  3. Lead by Example

If you want your team to be motivated, hard-working, forward-thinking, and consistently bring their best to the table, you’ve got to do the same. You’re the boss and you set the tone for your business. If you bring your best every day, your team will follow your lead.

  4. Encourage Questions

Nobody wants to look dumb in front of their boss, so you have to make it clear that you ALWAYS welcome their questions. Asking questions allows your team to get clarity on assignments, goals, processes, and expectations, so they can deliver top-quality results every time.

I’d rather my team ask me 50 questions about an assignment and get it right rather than make assumptions and veer off course, so keep the communication flowing!

  5. Be Their Biggest Cheerleader

You believe in your team members – you wouldn’t have hired them if you didn’t. Prove it by welcoming new ideas and suggestions, complimenting a job well done, and taking the time to tell them how much you appreciate them, their hard work, and their willingness to always go the extra mile.

When your team is happy, and they feel like you prioritize their needs and want to see them succeed, they will stick with you through thick and thin for years to come.
