Ed Troxell is a video coach and online marketing consultant with some easy advice for business owners who want to take it to the next level:
Get in front of the camera!!
Video has never been more popular for online business, and that’s not going to change anytime soon. If you’ve been putting off your time on the screen, it’s time to get comfortable and get ready for your closeup!
Luckily, it’s a lot easier than you might think…
“We’re always thinking about what video production has been in the past. You have all this fancy equipment – the lights, the camera, the expense- but we have to break that down because now we’re in a world where we have everything we need right in the palms of our hands.”
That’s right – even the experts believe that the camera quality on the phone you’re looking at right this minute is more than enough to create your video content and get your message out there!
But even though you have all the tech you need right in your pocket, many business owners are still afraid to step in front of the camera. They’re worried about how they’ll look, or what they’ll say, or if they’ll be able to create a picture-perfect image for their audience.
Good news – you don’t have to!
Audiences don’t want to see a highly polished, flawless version of you, they want to see the REAL you! Authenticity matters, and you want to be as recognizable on camera as you would be in person.
Instead of focusing on perfection, focus on sharing your passion and drive, and connecting with your audience. You want to attract clients that are a good fit for your business, and you can’t do that if you’re not being yourself.
“As business owners, we’re trying to attract the RIGHT audience. We’re not trying to attract everyone to us because not everyone is our client. The more that we can show up as ourselves and put out there who we really are, the more we’re going to be able to attract the right clients. “
