Social Media Management And Marketing To Millennials

February 16, 2018 by sophiezo Leave a Comment

Today’s millennials are constantly being overwhelmed with marketing content. As more companies emerge in the marketplace than ever before, your average consumer is frequently being swamped by new messages on social media, blog posts, and countless videos.

Since millennials make up the largest living generation (more than 25% of the population), it’s crucial to make sure that your social media marketing plan takes their needs and preferences into account. When creating a strategy with your social media manager, make sure you keep these three important guidelines in mind.

1. Keep Content Timely

Millennials are highly sensitive to the timeliness of content. Since they’re constantly checking social media through their phones, it’s important to make sure that you react to current events in your industry in a timely way if you want to appear “on trend”. Make sure that you have a plan in place that allows you to react to new updates in your marketplace as quickly as possible.

2. Let Your Audience Speak

Millennials are a very skeptical group of people, which is why they’re more likely to be aware of when they’re being marketed to. Native social media content and non-traditional content often works better for millennials than blatant advertising, but you could up the ante with user-generated content too. User-generated content allows your customers to tell their own stories and helps you to improve the authenticity that’s necessary for the voice of your brand.

3. Make Content Useful

Finally, when it comes to improving your social media strategy and marketing to millennials, remember that the content you produce should be both useful, and easy to engage with. Your fans won’t share your content for you if they don’t consider it to be entertaining or valuable. Even brands from industries that might be considered boring will still need to come up with unique social strategies to grab the attention of their audience.

If you’re struggling with your social media strategy and marketing to the right customers, the best thing you can do is invest in the help of a social media manager. Click here to discover why you should consider hiring your own social media manager.

We’ve been working with Sophie Zollmann for almost half a year now, building an online lifelong learning platform and community from the ground up (because in-person classes became impossible in light of the corona virus). Sophie has guided every technical aspect of this enterprise including the construction of landing-pages and websites, the management of mailing lists and revenue funnels, setting up Zoom meetings, etc., allowing us to focus exclusively on content production and marketing. This platform is now off the ground and succeeding beyond our wildest hopes.

We couldn’t have built it without Sophie’s support, which has always been prompt and timely, and her guidance, as she’s always pointed us to the most efficient and economical solutions to whatever technical issue we’ve faced. In the heat of the moment, I’m sure we’ve not always been easy to work with, but Sophie has also been generous and understanding to a fault. In sum, her support has been flawless and absolutely essential to the success of our online enterprise. We will be relying on her services again as we ramp up for our next phase of growth.
