5 Ways to Spice Up Your Social Media

August 28, 2020 by sophiezo Leave a Comment

We use social media to build our businesses all the time – marketing, staying connected, and increasing our brand awareness- but we have to remember that for the most part, our audience is seeking entertainment. If you want to keep their attention and keep your brand fresh on their minds, you’ve got to bring the fun!

You want to make your content entertaining, but you’ve also got to keep it in line with your brand. If your business is fairly serious, you don’t want to go overboard with silliness. But even the most buttoned-up business can bring some levity to their customers’ Facebook feed.

Here are a few ways to up the entertainment value of your brand without compromising your message:

  • Share Photos

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and when it comes to building your connection with your audience, it’s absolutely true! Behind-the-scenes snapshots of daily life are the best way to introduce your audience to the face behind the brand. So, share cute pictures of your furry office assistants, or a day-in-the-life selfie. Even a mishap can make great content- don’t cry over spilled coffee, take a picture and pair it with a funny caption!

  • Ask Questions

Questions are a great way to increase your engagement, and they don’t have to be business based. Ask your audience light-hearted questions that are sure to provide entertaining responses. Think along the lines of “Who would play you in a movie of your life?” or “What 3 items would you take to live on a deserted island?” Fun, thought-provoking polls or questions are an excellent way to increase audience participation.

  • Hold a Contest or Giveaway

Free stuff is ALWAYS fun! If you offer your audience a chance to win something, you are guaranteed to see more activity. You can even widen your reach by asking followers to enter by sharing your post. They get something cool, and you get new followers- everyone wins!

  • Go Live

Videos are a huge part of social media, and an easy way to entertain your audience. You can go live with a product announcement, share a how-to video, or even just post a snippet of your day. Anything that shows off your sparkling personality!

  • Make ‘Em Laugh

Don’t be afraid to let your sense of humor shine. Witty comments, a touch of sarcasm, even a little bit of edginess can make your social media profile far more entertaining. Obviously, you want to keep it appropriate- offending your audience isn’t the way to go- but don’t hesitate to share memes or other content that tickles your funny bone.

We’ve been working with Sophie Zollmann for almost half a year now, building an online lifelong learning platform and community from the ground up (because in-person classes became impossible in light of the corona virus). Sophie has guided every technical aspect of this enterprise including the construction of landing-pages and websites, the management of mailing lists and revenue funnels, setting up Zoom meetings, etc., allowing us to focus exclusively on content production and marketing. This platform is now off the ground and succeeding beyond our wildest hopes.

We couldn’t have built it without Sophie’s support, which has always been prompt and timely, and her guidance, as she’s always pointed us to the most efficient and economical solutions to whatever technical issue we’ve faced. In the heat of the moment, I’m sure we’ve not always been easy to work with, but Sophie has also been generous and understanding to a fault. In sum, her support has been flawless and absolutely essential to the success of our online enterprise. We will be relying on her services again as we ramp up for our next phase of growth.
