Trends to Watch in 2021

December 18, 2020 by sophiezo Leave a Comment

2021 is right around the corner and we’re keeping an eye on these marketing trends that are on track to be HUGE in the coming year!

So far, these are the key players we’re watching:

Retention Marketing

There’s been a major shift from focusing on acquiring new leads to maintaining relationships with loyal customers. Your customers are spending more time than ever researching their options, and you definitely don’t want to take the chance of losing your loyal customer base to your competition! So, this year you need to focus on letting your customers know how much they mean to you.

User Generated Content

User-generated content is the most authentic form of digital word of mouth advertising, and it far out- performs brand-generated content. This type of content is GREAT for business. When your customers are creating content for you, you’ve basically hit the jackpot.

Interactive content

You want to get your followers and website visitors more involved with your brand. The longer they stay on your website and the more they engage, the more you can learn about them. Start thinking about ways you can get your users involved. You can offer free assessments or quizzes, polls or surveys, games and interactive videos, or contests.

Live video

In 2019, viewers watched over a BILLION hours of live video- and that number skyrocketed even higher in 2020. Studies found that people spend 3 times longer watching live video than pre-recorded content, so look for opportunities to go live.

Nostalgia

Nostalgia marketing is the advertising version of comfort food. Nostalgia also brings people together and creates a sense of continuity, interconnectedness, and purpose.

Social causes

GenZ users have a huge social conscious. Knowing where their favorite brands stand matters far more to them than previous generations. They want to buy from companies that share their values and support the same causes. When major social issues arise, they want to know where their brands stand.

Core Web Vitals

Core Web Vitals won’t replace SEO, but they’ll play a significant role in your SEO ranking, so it’s worth doing some research. Google is set to start using these stats as a part of their ranking factor in 2021. It uses stats that measure a website’s overall user experience and includes key factors like page loading speed, interactivity and visual stability.

We’ve been working with Sophie Zollmann for almost half a year now, building an online lifelong learning platform and community from the ground up (because in-person classes became impossible in light of the corona virus). Sophie has guided every technical aspect of this enterprise including the construction of landing-pages and websites, the management of mailing lists and revenue funnels, setting up Zoom meetings, etc., allowing us to focus exclusively on content production and marketing. This platform is now off the ground and succeeding beyond our wildest hopes.

We couldn’t have built it without Sophie’s support, which has always been prompt and timely, and her guidance, as she’s always pointed us to the most efficient and economical solutions to whatever technical issue we’ve faced. In the heat of the moment, I’m sure we’ve not always been easy to work with, but Sophie has also been generous and understanding to a fault. In sum, her support has been flawless and absolutely essential to the success of our online enterprise. We will be relying on her services again as we ramp up for our next phase of growth.
