3 Steps to Find Your Authentic Marketing Style

Do you have an authentic marketing style, or are you just following the trends?

One of the most common marketing mistakes I see is business owners flocking to the latest and greatest rather than developing an individual marketing style that reflects their mission, vision, and target audience.

Relying on a cookie-cutter marketing plan isn’t going to get you where you want to go- you’re not a cookie. You’re a one-of-a-kind business and you need a marketing plan that’s as unique as you are!

Defining your authentic marketing style is a 3-step process. It starts with:

  1.     Identifying Unique Attributes

What makes you better than your competition? How is your business different from other industry leaders? Defining what makes your company special helps you identify your Unique Value Proposition (UVP), and you can use that to build marketing campaigns that truly stand out.

  1.     Staying Ahead of the Trends

If everybody is doing it, it’s already on its way out. Marketing trends shift quickly, and you don’t want to be the last one on the bandwagon! You can use tools like Google Trends or BuzzSumo to identify hot industry trends and topics before they become passe.

  1.     Creating Cutting-Edge Content

When you find an emerging trend that fits your vibe, run with it! Develop copy, content, or marketing campaigns that incorporate the trends AND reflect the unique look and feel of your business.

Adapting trends to fit your style helps you create forward-thinking, innovative content that’s also completely authentic. You’re no longer following the trends, you’re creating them; and that’s how you stand out in an increasingly competitive online marketplace!
